CBT (Compulsory Basic Training)

About

CBT is not an exam or test

The CBT is simply a course introduced in 1990 by the Government to help increase the safety of motorcycle riders.

To ride your motorcycle or moped you must take compulsory basic training (CBT) before riding on the road. There are exemptions – If you passed your car driving test before 1 February 2001 you don’t need to take CBT to ride a moped. If you are not sure please check here.

You will have to pass your full motorcycle test within 2 years of completing the CBT or you’ll have to take it again.

The CBT test is designed with the total novice in mind. It can take different times to complete depending on the experience of the rider but on average it takes a day to complete.

Course Price – £110  | £120 with bike hire
